Aloma, Henry

Henry Aloma, born in Rodas, Cienfuegos, Cuba in 1979. Graduated in Geological Engineering from the University of Pinar del Río in 2003. Later he makes post graduate studies in graphic design, in 2004 joined the Screen-Printing Workshop at the Las Terrazas Complex where begins to venture into the visual arts. In 2005 he took courses in traditional engraving and screen-printing at the Contemporary Graphics Workshop, and manufactured paper at the Experimental Workshop in Old Havana. Then he establishes his studio in Las Terrazas, Artemisa province.He has been a member of the Hermanos Saíz Association since 2011. His work has since been linked to the sustainable development project in his community, collaborating with different experiences such as artistic creation workshops or the local newspaper. In addition, he has worked on pictorial reconstructions of archaeological sites and illustrated books for various publishers. Simultaneous to his work in the visual arts, he created the Tremendochi musical project and was its director for 4 years, in which he produced and composed music for it. Since 2017, he has been the leader for Cuba of Fabriano in Aquarello. He has made 12 personal exhibitions and more than 50 collective ones in Cuba and other countries. His works are part of private collections in France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Austria, Germany, Brazil, the Netherlands, Canada, England and the United States.
