Pat has been creating art for over 30 years. After participating in the Introductory Design program at the Nova Scotia College of Art, she worked as a technical illustrator at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography. She now devotes herself full-time to making art and in 2015 graduated from NSCAD University with a Visual Arts Certificate in Studio. 

Her work has been featured in two solo and numerous joint shows and since 2011 she has participated in over 25 juried events.  Since 2011 she has served on the Board of the Peggy’s Cove Area Festival of the Arts and has participated as an artist in numerous Festival events.  In 2015 she achieved Signature status with the Pastel Artists of Canada and she was recently accepted as an Active Member with the Federation of Canadian Artists. In 2019 she was accepted as an Associate Member of the Pastel Society of America.

In 2017 she participated as one of 24 Nova Scotia Artists in ‘Roerpost’, an international art exchange project with Danish artists During 2018 and 2019 she joined ceramicist Marla Benton and painter Philip Hodges in three joint exhibitions in Nova Scotia, and participated in the Group “Wildlife” show at 14 Bells Gallery.

Her work is representational and her primary medium is dry pastel though she also produces relief prints, oil paint frottage works and watercolour pieces. She specializes in boat portraits, landscapes and seascapes of Atlantic Canada. Her work can be seen at the Lunenburg Art Gallery and Comfort and Joy (Lunenburg) and she is represented by Twelve Acre Hill Gallery (Seabright NS) and the Teichert Gallery (Halifax NS). She also maintains a gallery in her home in Seabright NS.
