Artist Statement

My main painting influences come from the coastline of Nova Scotia and the Kejimkujik lakes. My works have included both realistic landscape imagery, as well as non-objective abstract paintings. Major works are done in the studio, but I also sketch with watercolour on location to satisfy my Group of Seven itch. My preferred mediums are acrylic, watercolour and pen-ink. I am currently involved in a series of black and white images on over-sized paper, featuring the moon associated with an archeological or cultural object.
