Artist statement
My working processes and my conceptual frameworks are interwoven. My papermaking is recycling, a transformation, a making way for new creations.
Encaustic – wax and pigments – is a natural matrix for layering the old and new, making a visual memory.
Stories are universal, as are crows and gulls (almost), and the combination has been a source for much of my work.
