Collection: Bastedo, Anne

Anne has always loved taking photographs, starting with her Brownie box camera in the 1960’s. While earning her living as a lawyer, she pursued her passion for photography.  Upon retirement, she launched Serenity Images. She has exhibited and sold her work at various venues in Nova Scotia. ViewPoint Gallery Co-operative in Bedford is her home gallery.

Anne has had two well-received solo shows of her work, first impressions of Central America and daily life in Cuba. She has participated in a number of group shows.

I simply LOVE taking photographs of almost anything around me. I am best known for capturing the essence of colour and line in a photographic image. My photographs are often described as looking like paintings.

I work from a relationship between the eye and the heart and I’m happiest when my photographs engage my viewer’s emotions. In your daily life, I encourage you to pay attention to what opens the relationship between the eye and the heart for you.
