Over the past 15 years, Ernest has had a number of solo shows and has participated in several group shows. His work can be found for sale in galleries, craft shows, craft shops and gift shops primarily in the Maritimes.

Ernest became seriously engaged in photography in the mid-90s. His early interest was urban abstracts. In 2002, he moved to the Annapolis Valley and his work segued into rural landscape, especially scenes that include rural animals. His imagery has a strong sense of moment.

ARTIST STATEMENT

In recent years, I have become increasingly attracted to cellphone photography wherein the images are captured and processed on a phone. This work is focused on facilitating the perceptions of ordinary world during daily life.
