Artist Statement
I love the exhilaration of the senses and the sense of immediacy and movement the changing landscape asks of the outdoor painter. I relish the feeling of paint on my brush and the magical blending of colours across the canvas.
My larger paintings, often studio work, reflect my relationship with the natural world. The painting are both meditative and searching, and try to show a connectedness to the elements encountered: sea, sky, and earth.
My prints are a more playful reworking of my observational style, distilling a feeling or emotion, while allowing the medium to speak for itself.
