Originally from NL, Sheila has lived in NS since 1979. She graduated with a degree in Visual Communication from NSCAD, and worked for several years in the field of graphic design.
A lifelong love of drawing grew to include painting. Sheila attended local workshops in watercolour, pastel and acrylics. She furthered her study in art and painting through a 4-year comprehensive apprentice program with the online Virtual Art Academy, completed in 2019, focusing on oil painting. She has participated in group shows at Argyle Fine Art and donates yearly to the Mosaic for Mental Health Art Exhibition and Sale.
Graceful lines, organic shapes, soft and bold colours - these are the harmonies in nature that I love to express through paint. Whether it's a landscape, a jar of flowers on a windowsill, or a stand of trees by the side of a road, I am excited to capture the beauty the natural world reveals to us.
