Maxwell, Evan

Evan Maxwell graduated from Georgian College with a degree in Fine Arts and Design in 1985, but considers himself more of a self-taught realist artist, as much of his schooling focused on ceramic sculpture and abstract art. Since 2003, Evan has been selling paintings and prints through a variety of galleries across Canada. He has taught art classes in a number of elementary and high schools.

Artist Statement

As I see it, my purpose as an artist is a simple one: to take any ability I have been given and use it, and then share what I've gained with others. Art can open our eyes and ears and hopefully our hearts to the world around us. It provokes, stimulates, and inspires; it's the child that stands and says, "Look at me, see what I can do!"
