Sue Sadoway was born in Alberta but has spent the majority of her life in Nova Scotia. She graduated from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. in 1975 and then taught high school art for 30 years before pursuing her own interests in art. Today she works and exhibits with two talented art groups in the St. Margaret’s Bay area.
I work in both an abstract and representational manner. Abstraction, for me is a dance between inside feeling and external visual qualities, particularly colour and movement. It is immediate, playful and fresh. In my representational work I strive to reveal the resilience and wonder in our everyday, natural world. This world is full of metaphor and insight into the human condition. Making art feeds and energizes me. I can’t imagine my life without it.
