The contrast between the rigidity of the buildings and the fluidity of the transit routes reflects the relationship between the built environment and the daily rhythms of urban life. The title “Nexus” meaning a point of connection or link, speaks to the many networks that hold a city together. Buildings, streets, bus routes, and the people, as they move through them become part of a larger interconnected system. The simplicity and the material of the line drawings enhance the notion that an embodied city is not simply a collection of structures but is a living network of connections.
